BLOG - Greetings from Juneau Alaska |
Here we are in Juneau Alaska, this gorgeous little town right at the foot of these amazingly tall mountains with waterfalls and snow on their peaks. The weather is outstanding, the sun is shining and its really warm. We have been at sea for two days and the weather was quite bad, the seas quite rough, so its nice to see some sunshine and stable ground.
Our captain kindly parked the ship in the wee hours of the night, right in between two other big ships and right at the doorstep to town. We literally walk off the gangway and into the funky little shops and cafe's.
Currently we are in the Juneau public library where the free wireless internet access actually reaches our stateroom on the ship and if we knew how, we could have connected from our room... for free!!! but we needed the installation instructions and now we are with all the other internet junkies getting a free hit from the inside.
We are having a fab time on Crystal... did we mention that? oh... yeah, its just wonderful. Lots of lovely people and lovely food... oh... the food. Last night we ate in one of the ships speciality restaurants... japanese!!! The food was amazing. We couldnt stop gushing about how fabulous the food was. It was like the best Japanese food we had ever eaten and Melbourne is full of wonderful Japanese restaurants so it really was quite special.
Today we have a performance in the show lounge, we are supporting this extremely funny Ventriloquist Comedian Mark Merchant, he is hysterically funny and very very talented. We have a new routine we are launching tonight and we've been working very hard to give these wonderful people our very best.
Other than the fabulous food, wonderful people and superb surroundings, we are having a lovely time. Its so nice to be on a great ship with happy happy people and pleasant surroundings.
