BLOG - We love you asbestos we can |
Booze cruisers 70 year olds, 80 year olds, 90 year olds... ooooowwww.... now hear this crew, on the booze cruise there is a younger crowd, "cool" both Cheryl and I thought we're gonna be hanging with kids our age... we're gonna be having fun with people who identify with "shaggy" and playstations and the internet.. raves... and cool music...
Both Cheryl and I stood there wide eyed and open outhed as we looked at the sea of smokers and drinkers pushing more and more coins into the one-handed-bandits while their partners stood behind them with steam coming out of their ears. If anybody has tried to get through a nightclub from the toilets to the bar, you will know the trouble we had making our way through the casino. These so called booze-cruisers stood there looking depressed, because not only have they lost their pants, but they're about to lose their partner as well.... wowwwww ... this is not the crowd we expected :-(
As it happens the oldies were alot more fun because they knew how to have fun... here's to you grandma and grandpa!
Home Sweet Home Hahahahaha ha.... yes, we've moved to a new cabin, yes we have alot more room... and now we have a toilet that doesnt flush and the walk in wardrobe that we were so proud of... as well as the room itself is lined with asbestos... but its all ok, its sealed behind paint... which happens to be peeling!!!! (as paint does, from 1969) Arghhhhhhh!!!!
Dolphins But all is not bad... I SEE DOLPHINS!!! thats what I shouted in the middle of a conversation with one of the most influencial people in the English dance community... then promptly ran to the window like an excited schoolboy ushering another 20 (90 year old) excited school boys... I stuck my nose on the window and my eyes gleemed... there was a pod of dolphins next to us jumping and racing the QE2!!! It was awesome!!!!!
Jive Performance & Rock n Roll night Last night we did a Jive performance at the Black and White ball... it was amazing. Both Cheryl and I "wow-ed" the crowd, I did my splits, Cheryl did her spins, the old girls cheered they loved it. We did it twice, the second time in 50's and 60's gear up at the Rock n Roll night in the Yatch club.
The system We've finally got a planner showing us our activities for the month!!! woo hoo!! it only took three weeks! So now we can actually start to work out the system. It seems that every step we take ends up in a mistake because of us not knowing certain little niggly points. eg. they've given us the day off in "Cannes - France" which is fantastic, the ship sails at 5pm which means we have to be on board at 4.30pm but.... the ship cannot dock so it will anchor quite a way away from the dock, we have to then "tender" by small boats that take 50 - 100 people at a time, this process starts at 7am and by the time 1000 people get ashore (of course passengers go first) Cheryl and I will get ashore around lunch time!! We will have time for a few photos, then try to get back on the ship....which can take hours... thats the system :-(
So... in summary... Cheryl and I are having a great time, enjoying every day as it comes, taking on these challenges head on and winning, simply because of the people we are. We are loving it and looking forward to working out the system to make it work for us as individuals
