BLOG - It's official, we rock!

Well, its the official end of our first cruise, 13 nights to the Med, Spain, Portugal and Canary Islands and we passed, with flying colours.

The guests loved us, the cruise office (our managers) said we have done a "fabulous" job and despite our annoyances with their systems, we enjoyed it also. We've met some lovely people during the two weeks, would like to have spent more time with them, but there are over 1700 passengers on the ship and its difficult to get to know all of them. The ones we did get to know really touched us with their kindness and their beautiful ways.

So, its all systems go on the QE2 for the next couple of cruises; a 3 Day "Booze Cruise" around England and a 5 Day chartered cruise to Norway for a group of medical experts, get this... they have rented out the QE2 for a private function!!! and then down to the Med again where we visit Italy, France, Greece.... and a few other places

This weekend on the "Booze Cruise" the QE2 opens its doors to the general public and sails at very cheap prices, to entice people to come on board. The passengers are certainly of a different socio-economic level and instead of enjoying the shows in the "grand showroom", dancing in the ballroom or in the funky disco, we found the bulk of the passengers in the casino where the walls were literally sweating from the human body temperature. The rest of the passengers were found in the old english pub listening to Billy Joel and Neil Diamond covers....

At the moment we are stuck just outside St Peter Port where the ship is unable to move because of this amazing fog that has descended upon us. You cannot see out the windows its so white with fog. All the tours have been cancelled for the day and we can hear things happening in the water around us, but cannot see a thing, its spooky!

So, what does a good cruiseliner do when it cant cruise?? Well, they have salsa classes with two of Australia's best dance instructors!!!! We teased them this morning with our early morning rumba warm up... at first there was no-one in the room, then one by one they saw us and started gathering to watch. After about 15 minutes, the ballroom was full, a couple of hundred people just watching us do an early morning rumba. Its so funny, our breakfast had hardly gone down and we could hardly move but we are performing any time of the day, even doing a stretch on the floor!!!
