BLOG - Crystal Harmony 1st Day |
Oh my god…. We are in shock… we could not believe our eyes, ears, noses and well…. All our senses when we came on board Crystal Harmony. It is absolutely stunning!!!
 When we first saw the ship it was exciting, she’s such a lovely white, so clean and sparkling. But the real beauty came when we crossed the gangway and saw the sparkling marble floors, gold balustrades, fresh new carpets. We walked into room after room that was absolutely stunning in its décor and ambience… you could see the dumbstruck look on our faces… “Spot the new guys”.
We made our way to the cruise director’s office where we chatted about our duties and obligations….we were over the moon to hear we had no gangway duties, no library duties, no handing out tender tickets or opening show doors for passengers… no blowing up balloons or setting up games!!! AND no uuuuunnniiiiforms!!!! Mind you, their uniforms are quite nice, but we’re not putting our hands up to wear them J
Best of all, we are here to dance, to teach, to perform and to dance with the passengers. We have time to practice, time to prepare and we have space to do all this. No getting kicked out of rooms for cellulite lectures, or teeth whitening seminars, we actually have a home!!! So we can give them the best of our dance ability, which is what we have been waiting for.
Oh…. But the best is yet to come…. Our room!!!! You should see it!!! We have what’s called an oversized stateroom, its at the back of the ship and is on the promenade deck… above sea level and where you can walk around the entire deck on the outside of our room. We have two HUUUUGE windows that let in depression curing sunlight and the décor is absolutely 6 star, lovely big couch, KING size bed, big big big beauty desk with lighting and chair… (all for me, just to do makeup and hair J We have this fab wardrobe with mirrors, lighting, real draws that open, a bar fridge with food in it!!! And in the bathroom…. We have a separate shower, bath… ehhh… make that a spa bath… toilet and ….. wait for it…. A bide’ or as Paul calls it… a toilet to wash your bottom.
 We haven’t seen the full extent of how Crystal does things yet, we will explore a little more tonight, but each room has been stunning. We took a moment to have something to eat when we came on board…. None of this double, triple cooked, stale or soggy food… nah ah…we were served freshly cooked burgers, made for us as we sat by the pool in the glorious sunlight. We just sat there at first, quiet and in awe and then it dawned on us… we will be here for four months… this is our home and our work and we get to travel on it…. Then it finally hit us… what an awesome opportunity…. What fun we are going to have….
We both looked at each other, this delighted, relieved and appreciating look. We worked hard for this and we deserve it. Now we are going to enjoy every bit of it.
PS : oh…. Forgot one minor point for those who appreciate beauty products… the bathroom is fully decked out with Aveda products… face, hair, nails, even Aveda mouthwash!!! And the cutest little sewing kit I’ve ever seen :-)
