Dress Rehearsals & On the Night

Girls

  • The best outfit to wear on the night is a flowing skirt or dress. The more movement it has the more you look like you're moving. Tight shorts and dresses are great but only if you have a wonderful leg action and can generate lots of movement
  • salsa performance clusterIf you are wearing a short skirt, make sure you have a full brief on underneath, black works best (or color match the dress)
  • If you are going bra-less on the night, test the dress beforehand.  Nipple stickers are a great idea just in case (also did you know most flash cameras will see straight through most fabrics - so even though you think you're protected, the camera never lies!
  • Safety pins, bobby pins, headache pills, bandaids and hair ties never go astray
  • Test all earings, necklaces and bangles by wearing to dress rehearsals, if you have a pair of earings that could be dangerous when flying off into the crowd, use eyelash glue to stick them to your ear temporarily!

Guys

  • Sorry, there's not much of a choice for you! Pants & shirt, Pants & vest, Pants and Suit Jacket
  • Men look great in a suit when dancing, but beware, they are hard to dance in
  • A nice pair of pants, trousers or jeans will look great on the dancefloor
  • Make sure pants are long enough to go over the shoe when you're in a bent knee state
  • Shirt or t-shirt will work fine - vests are great too
  • Match your socks to your shoes and pants, please dont wear white socks with black shoes and dark pants!  We WILL disown you!

A spare pare of shoes is critical, shoes have a tendency to break just as you are warming up, so be prepared with an extra pair, just in case!
