DANCE101 venues are funky, cool and relaxed. Most normal people want to dance but not with wall to wall mirrors! Yikes! At DANCE101 generally speaking you can enjoy a meal, drink and socialise as well as dancing. We've combined dance with food and drink, who would have thought!
And feel free to come along and watch a class if you're not sure. We dont mind you being in the room, actually we often like an audience, so the more the merrier! So bring your friends along that dont dance, they can relax while you dance (and hopefully they might get up some time!).
DANCE101 teaches mainly Salsa & Latin American styles of dance but we are skilled in all types of partner dances such as Ballroom (Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot etc) and Hip Hop, Break Dancing etc. We have developed our own Ladies Latin Dance Program taking Melbourne by storm! All our classes are run on a casual basis there is no need to book. You don't need a partner and you certainly don't need to know how to dance.

Social Dancing
Group classes are held in bars, clubs, pubs and environments where you can relax and socialise in a normal way. We know dance studios freak people out, that's why we dont have mirrors, toffy dance teachers who look like they have a pole up their ...... ooops sorry we got carried away there. Anyway you get the picture. DANCE101 is all about the average person who wants to dance but really doesnt like the dance studio vibe.

Dance Classes - Groups
Classes are around 55 minutes duration, we try to allow 5-10 minutes between classes, for drinking, socializing and chatting. Food and drink prices in our RSL's are fantastic, also our class prices are cheaper in these venues, so take advantage of the wonderful RSL feel, its safe, friendly and never sleazy!
