Enjoy the sensuous Latin rhythms every Sunday till 10.00pm. There is a range of music, Salsa, Cha Cha, Merengue, Bachata and various other Latin styles. Everyone is welcome, beginners, advanced, even if you just want to sit and watch, you are more than welcome.
Brett and Henry from Yarra's Edge Bar and Cafe provide the hospitality in terms of food and drinks. Their food is fantastic but you dont have to book a three course meal to enjoy the atmosphere. There's plenty of public seating around, so you can come by, have a look and not feel the pressure to book a table. Although if you do choose to dine & drink, you'll find the menu fabulous and great drinks prices.
If you're a Salsa dancer and wondering about the surface you will be dancing on, it's concrete, so please street shoes only, your dance shoes will get torn to shreds if you wear them on this surface. Rubber doesnt work either, something with a nice hard sole will be best.
DANCE101 ran this event last year and monthly through the colder months, the location lends itself to a lovely group of people interesting in dancing, having fun and enjoying our fabulous city. You're protected from the winds and there are trees to protect you from the sunshine. The views are stunning with the backdrop of the Melbourne Skyline and luxury yatchs right behind us.
Come by for a quick dance or stay the whole afternoon, you will love this wonderful location in the beautiful heart of Melbourne Docklands.
Yarra's Edge Bar & Cafe, Yarra's Edge. Located right off Lorimer St, Docklands. It's just a drop off the freeway, loads of parking and you don't have to go winding your way into the city to get there.
This section of the Docklands is great as it's protected from the wind and gets all the afternoon sunshine so it's a fantastic location for Dancing and socialising
Don't know how to dance? Relax with a fun and friendly dance lesson every Sunday at 5pm. This single class will get your moves happening and wake up your body to your latin groove.
